One Hundred Years in the Making
For over a century, successive Governments have attempted fundamental reform of the House of Lords. None has been totally successful, hampered partly by powerful vested interests which stand resolutely in the way.
At the last election, all three main parties committed to reform but unfortunately in August the government abandoned it’s House of Lords Reform Bill leaving the situation of reserved privilege for the Church of England unchanged.
